Following consultations, we have agreed and are happy to collaborate with Emanuel Synagogue who established the Dunera Project. This project is an extensive cultural initiative set up in response to the isolation brought about by the COVID-19 crisis. We commend this programme to our members.
Emanuel Synagogue wishes, amongst other activities, to highlight the art produced by Dunera Boys and as a result we may hold a combined event in this vain to benefit the members of our respective organisations.
We congratulate the following Dunera Boys on their recent birthdays:
George Lederer – 100 in USA
Gerald Moore – 97 in Paris
Max Arnott – 99 in Melbourne
Unfortunately, we are living in a stressful environment as a result the COVID-19 coronavirus. Community anxiety is at high levels and more and more stringent restrictions of movement are being introduced by governments.
We as a community organisation should respond to this issue in a responsible manner to protect our members and the public at large.
Therefore, the committee has decided that the 80th anniversary functions in Sydney and Hay should be cancelled. The extensive plans for these functions will now be actioned for all the 81st anniversary functions next year
We regret the necessity for this decision and hope that those who had planned to attend will still do so in 2021. We will advise you of all the new dates when that decision has been made. Keep your eyes on the website, our Dunera News publications and the Friends of Dunera boys Facebook page for these dates and updated information
I wish you all good health.
