From 6pm – Dinner at JJ Bistro, Riverina Hotel.
Meet and Greet evening
Saturday 2 September
9.30 am HAY RAILWAY STATION
Symbolic re-enactment at Hay Railway Station. Museum displays will be open.
10.30am MORNING TEA

On the Railway platform – Tourism Team to provide & tour of Dunera Museum adjacent

11.00 am SYMBOLIC MARCH from the railway carriage to Dunera Place to March of the Hebrew Slaves from Verdi’s, Nabucco.

DEPART HAY RAILWAY STATION
Follow ‘Dunera Way’ from the station to Camps 7 and 8 by car convoy. Tour of Camps 7 and 8,
Racecourse/Showground, Garrison areas. Stop at Dunera Commemorative Obelisk in Dunera Way. The obelisk
was unveiled in 1990 for the 50th anniversary.

12.30/ LUNCH
1.00 pm Enjoy a light lunch at The Black Sheep Coffee Shop – 62 Lachlan Street
AFTERNOON – Free time to visit the various historic War Memorial Museums
OPTIONS – rest or visit other Hay sites

• Hay Gaol Museum – The site of first Military Hospital where sick Dunera Boys were sent before the
Camp hospital was completed.
• Shear Outback Museum – A history of the Australian sheep shearing and wool industry. Shearing demo
and talk 10.30 am & 1.30 pm every day
• Bishop’s Lodge – 1890 historic house and garden. Open 9 am –5 pm. (Monday –Friday), 9 am -12 pm
Saturday
• Hay General Cemetery, Jewish Section – Visit the grave of Menasche Bodner, the only Dunera Boy to die
in Hay

6.30 pm DINNER -Bishop’s Lodge Restaurant – a la carte menu – enjoy a relaxing dinner in a top class restaurant
Sunday 4 September
10.00am MORNING TEA at Bishop’s Lodge Historic House and Rose Garden provided by the Dunera Hay Museum & Friends
